Privacy Policy for Anometron
Effective Date: May 25, 2026
Last Updated: May 25, 2026
Corbray Technologies ("we", "our", or "us") built the Anometron app as a sensor analysis and recording tool for paranormal investigation and environmental research. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Anometron mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
- Google Sign-In (when account features are enabled): name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account
- Subscription information: managed entirely through Google Play Billing — we do not store payment details
- Support communications: any information you provide when contacting us
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device model, Android version, app version
- Usage data: which features you use, session counts, error logs for debugging
- Sensor data captured during sessions: magnetometer, accelerometer, gyroscope readings
C. User-Generated Content
- Audio recordings captured during sessions
- Photos captured during sessions
- Notes, tags, location names, and event annotations you create
- Location data (only when you choose to attach a location to a session)
D. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not access your contacts, calendar, messages, or other apps' data
- We do not track your location continuously — only when you explicitly capture it for a session
- We do not collect advertising identifiers or use them for tracking
- We do not collect data about your other apps or browsing history
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Provide and improve the App's core features
- Process subscriptions and lifetime purchases via Google Play Billing
- Provide AI transcription via Google's Gemini API (Premium feature, when enabled)
- Sync your sessions across devices via cloud storage (Premium feature, when enabled)
- Respond to support requests and user feedback
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your data for advertising. The App does not display ads.
3. How Information Is Stored and Transmitted
Local Storage (Default):
All your sessions, audio recordings, photos, and sensor data are stored only on your device. Nothing leaves your phone unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.
Cloud Storage (Optional, Premium Feature):
When you enable cloud sync:
- Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections
- Data is stored on Supabase infrastructure protected by row-level security
- Your data is associated with your account and only accessible by you
- We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted storage at rest
AI Transcription (Optional, Premium Feature):
When you enable AI transcription:
- Short audio chunks (typically 5 seconds around detected events) are sent to Google's Gemini API over encrypted connections
- Audio is processed for transcription and returned as text
- Per Google's paid Gemini API privacy policy, audio is not retained by Google after processing and is not used to train Google's models
- Audio sent to Google is not associated with your personal identity
You can disable both cloud sync and AI transcription at any time in Settings. Disabling these features stops further data transmission, though previously synced data remains in cloud storage until you request deletion.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may process information:
- Google Play Billing: Subscription and purchase management. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Cloud / Gemini API: AI transcription for Premium users. Audio is sent only when AI transcription is enabled. Subject to Google's Cloud Privacy Notice
- Supabase: Cloud data storage when cloud sync is enabled. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy at https://supabase.com/privacy
- Google Sign-In: Authentication when you create an account. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
- Firebase (analytics and crash reporting): Anonymous diagnostic data only — no personally identifiable information
We do not share information with these services beyond what is necessary to provide the App's features.
5. Audio Recording Disclosure
The App records audio from your device's microphone only when you explicitly start a session that uses audio features (Listen for Voices or Full Investigation). Audio recording is clearly indicated by:
- A persistent notification while recording is active
- A visible "REC" indicator within the App
- A foreground service status visible in your device's status bar
Audio recording stops automatically when you end a session. You can review, listen to, and delete any audio recordings at any time within the App.
You are responsible for complying with local laws regarding audio recording. Some jurisdictions require consent from all parties being recorded. You should obtain consent from any individuals before recording them where required by law.
6. Sensor Data Disclosure
The App accesses your device's magnetometer, accelerometer, and gyroscope sensors during active sessions to detect environmental anomalies. These sensors do not access personal information — they measure physical properties of your environment. Sensor data is used to:
- Detect changes in magnetic fields and device orientation
- Establish baseline measurements for anomaly detection
- Display visual feedback during sessions
Sensor data is stored alongside your session recordings and is subject to the same privacy protections.
7. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
- Session data on your device: Retained until you delete it. Deleted items move to Trash for 7 days, then are permanently removed.
- Cloud-synced data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
- Logs and analytics: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging and abuse prevention.
- Audio sent to Gemini API: Not retained by Google per their paid API terms.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Correct: Update or correct your account information
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export: Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
